Your tension, exhaustion, tightness, or overwhelm may not be signs that your body is failing you.

They may be signs that your body has been trying to protect you for a very long time.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve written about some of the adaptive patterns I observe most often:

  • bracing
  • neck and jaw tension
  • pelvic holding
  • exhaustion
  • compensation after stress or injury

What I hope you take away from this conversation is simple:

Your body is not working against you.

More often, your body has been working very hard for you.

Many of the patterns you experience physically may be intelligent adaptations to stress, responsibility, injury, pressure, uncertainty, over-functioning, grief, or long periods without enough recovery.

And sometimes, what your body needs most is not more force.

But support.
Awareness.
Gentleness.
Space to reorganize differently.

This is a large part of the work I do through somatic bodywork.

Not simply addressing stress cognitively, but helping you reconnect with your body’s patterns, signals, and capacity for restoration.
